If you like being read to or listening to audiobooks, then this program is for you! Each week, we will be listening to multiple chapters of a community-selected, family-friendly audiobook and chat about it! Join us Fridays from 10 to 11 a.m. Eastern Time.

Repair Café Toronto – September

At the CNIB Repair Café, the skilled fixers will be on hand to repair a variety of items, with a special focus on The primary focus on repairing accessibility devices such as Perkins braillers, white canes, electronic magnifiers, talking and braille watches, and sewing-related repairs. Saturday, September 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the CNIB GTA Community Hub.

Advocacy 101 for guide dog handlers

The ability to advocate for oneself is an essential skill for all guide dog handlers. Effective self-advocacy allows individuals the opportunity to communicate clearly and confidently in order to get around the barriers for any given situation. Join CNIB for an educational workshop on self advocacy for guide dog handlers. Monday, September 23 from 1 to 2 p.m. Eastern Time on Zoom.

"There's something I need to tell you" Disclosure Series

In the “There's Something I Need to Tell You" Disclosure Series, join Ben Akuoko and Kate Riccomini for a six-week series as they provide informative session with various topics in the areas of disclosure: family, friends, relationships, customer service, employment and general public interaction. Find out whether to disclose, how much to disclose, and how to disclose your sight loss effectively.  Every Monday (September 23 to October 28) from 7 to 8 p.m. Eastern on Zoom.

Have your say: E-scooter Focus Group with the Town of Ajax

Are you an Ajax resident with sight loss concerned about unsafe behaviours by people using e-scooters and e-bikes? The Town of Ajax is seeking ten residents with sight loss to participate in an in-person Focus Group evaluating the 2024 Shared E-scooter and E-bike Pilot Program. Wednesday, September 25, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Town of Ajax Townhall.
