The CNIB community is deeply saddened by the passing of Delores Beck, one of our most generous donors and a true champion of CNIB Guide Dogs. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.
Delores’ unwavering support has left an indelible mark on CNIB and the guide dog community in Canada. With more than $6 million in lifetime contributions, she was instrumental in the development and growth of CNIB Guide Dogs, helping ensure that Canadians who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision could experience life-changing partnerships with guide dogs.
Her generosity will be forever honoured through the Howard & Delores Beck Puppy Development Centre in Georgina, Ontario – a state-of-the-art facility that will support, socialize, and train future CNIB guide dogs, and serve as a community space for residents to learn more about guide dogs and blindness.
Delores Beck’s kindness, vision, and generosity will always be a part of CNIB’s story. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire and empower for generations to come.
