Wayfinding Information from Union Station
Our O&M colleagues at Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada have put together wayfinding information for those who are navigating from Union Station.
- To exit Union Station, please use the main doors to exit onto Front Street
- From the doors at Union Station, turn right (heading East) towards Bay Street and Front Street.
- Please be cautious approaching the intersection as there are a number of concrete blocks on the sidewalk near the intersection. The intersection of Bay and Front have an APS, but there can be heavy traffic and sometimes cars end p stopping on the crosswalk.
- Cross from the South West side to the South East side.
- After crossing the street, turn right to head South. Before you is a bridge and the sidewalk goes underneath it. Note, the sidewalk can be quite loud with the traffic so you may prefer to go inside the Bay East Teamway, which is sealed off from traffic with glass windows. That is on the left of the sidewalk as you approach the bridge.
- Should you choose to use the Bay East Teamway, it connects to 81 Bay Street on the North side of the building. If you choose to use the sidewalk, the sidewalk runs to the front of 81 Bay Street. There are three steps on the left side as you approach the building.
- When you enter CIBC Square, located at 81 Bay St. Toronto, ON., proceed to the elevator bank for Floors 41 – 49.
- You will have received a QR code via the same email you registered with the Connecting the Dots event. This QR code will come from guest@cibcsquare.com. This QR code gives you access to the elevators so you can travel to L43.
- Approach the turnstile gate and scan your QR code, the turnstile screen will then display which elevator to enter (C1 through C8). Enter the elevator you are directed to. Please note we will have volunteers at the turnstile gate to assist you.
Access Information
To access the building, guests will have to scan a QR code. The QR code will emailed to you one day prior to the event from guest@cibcsquare.com. When you enter the building, located at 81 Bay Street, you will have to scan your QR code at the turnstile gate and enter the elevator you are directed to. We will have volunteers stationed in the lobby to assist you as well. Please note, because we are travelling to the 43rd floor, it is normal and expected that your ears will adjust their pressure by ‘popping’ in the elevator.
