Help us raise funds to support CNIB Lake Joe’s new watersports program for people with sight loss. A new waterski boat, equipment and accessories will enhance our adaptive waterski program and allow everyone to experience the thrill of waterskiing. Your donations will also aid us in offering more watersports programming activities, like waterboarding and tubing.
Once you register, you will be able to participate in Muskoka’s largest synchronized dock party, which includes enjoying synchronized water-based activities, gourmet goodies, celebrity visits, live entertainment, and so much more.
More importantly, while partying, you will be raising funds for a great cause. You can make it even more exciting by competing with friends and family to see who can raise the most funds for this awesome cause. Everyone who raises a minimum of $1,000 will receive a coveted “Taste of Muskoka Dock Box” for their party, valued at $350. Top overall donors will win extraordinary prizes! When you give, you will join Daryl Knudson, CNIB Lake Joe alumni and member of the Advisory Board, who made the initial donation of $10,000. He is particularly passionate about CNIB adding a waterskiing program since he has seen countless kids transformed by the waterskiing experience.
“I wanted to waterski because I love the water,” he says. “I enjoyed winter skiing and snowboarding and thought about putting the two awesome things together and trying them. It was a fabulous, thrilling experience.”
“The sport is thrilling enough in its own right,” Daryl Knudson adds. “Being pulled behind a fast powerboat, the wind in your face.”
Some guests become skilled enough to cross the wake or drop a ski and go slalom. But for kids living with sight loss, learning how to waterski or wakeboard is a huge confidence-builder.
