Leave a lasting legacy at the CNIB Canine Campus
Imagine a place where bustling city streets stand side-by-side against rural pastures… a place where intense hard work is quickly followed by playtime, squeaky toys, and belly rubs… a place where every step taken – whether by human or canine – brings a world of freedom and possibilities closer to people with sight loss.
The CNIB Guide Dogs Canine Campus is just that – a transformative space where guide dogs are trained to provide freedom, safety, and independence to people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision from across Canada. And now, you can be part of this incredible journey with a special opportunity to purchase a commemorative brick that will be part of the Canine Campus for years to come.
For a donation of $500, your personalized brick will be engraved with a name or message of your choice and built into the heart of the Canine Campus’s Indoor City – a cutting-edge, simulated urban environment designed to teach guide dogs the skills they need to navigate real-world scenarios. From crossing streets to boarding buses, this innovative space allows dogs to experience and prepare for all of life’s adventures with their handlers by their sides.
“Every dog that trains at our Canine Campus goes through a comprehensive process to ensure they’re equipped for the challenges of guiding someone who is blind in everyday life,” says Rob Gaunt, President of CNIB Guide Dogs, who is a guide dog handler himself. “The commemorative bricks are a way for donors to leave a personal mark on this incredible mission. Every message engraved on these bricks will serve as a constant reminder of the generous support that makes our work possible."
But it’s not just about bricks. It’s about giving CNIB Guide Dogs’ generous supporters a chance to create a lasting legacy. Whether you're honouring a loved one, celebrating a special occasion, or remembering a beloved pet, your contribution will not only support this life-changing program, but it will also become an integral part of a one-of-a-kind place that helps guide people from across Canada toward brighter futures.
“As much as this Buy a Brick program changes lives, it’s also a chance for donors to feel connected to something bigger than themselves,” says Gaunt. “It’s about making a real difference, one brick at a time.”
Each commemorative brick, which will be accompanied by a tax receipt for the donor, will ensure more Canadians with sight loss can live confidently and independently with the help of these incredible guide dogs. It’s a meaningful way to leave a legacy while supporting a brighter, more accessible future for all.
