Have your say on the design of the Canada Disability Benefit

The Government of Canada recently released its proposed Canada Disability Benefit Regulations which, once approved, will determine technical details for the design and implementation of the Canada Disability Benefit. The Government has opened a public consultation process to gather feedback from the disability community on the proposed Regulations. In turn, CNIB is consulting with our community members to gather the perspectives of persons who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision, about whether the Regulations as proposed are appropriate. We will then use this feedback to inform CNIB’s submission to the Government.

CNIB SmartLife: Digital Treasure Chest, Evolution of Keyboarding (Daytime)

The Digital Treasure Chest is a new virtual program that will explore, examine, and highlight some of the best accessible technologies for people living with sight loss across Canada. Join us Wednesday, September 4 as we talk about typing! We’ll be discussing the history of the keyboard (and its predecessor, the typewriter), what you can do with one, and how to learn your keyboard’s layout. If you’d rather give your fingers a break, we’ll also be discussing voice dictation, where all you have to do is say what you want to type.
