Braille Quest: a fun braille literacy program (with prizes!) Put your braille skills to the test—at home or school! Complete fun challenges for a chance to win a prize.
Who can participate?
- Elementary and secondary students across Canada who are learning or using braille.
- All braille reading and writing skill levels are welcome!
- Materials available in English or French.
How does it work?
- Register for Braille Quest 2025 by completing our registration form.
- Your Braille Quest materials arrive in January, and you have until mid March to participate. Activities will cover a range of interests from arts and crafts to reading comprehension, experiments, and creative writing.
- Complete the activities independently or with the support of family or teachers.
- As long as you report back that you’ve completed a Braille Quest, you’ll be eligible for the Prize Draw!
Braille Quest 2025: Space, the Final Frontier
Pick a Team and Topic (or pick more than one!):
- Nebula Ninjas: learn about new and experienced astronauts (best for early readers)
- Galactic Geniuses: read about STEM inventions from Canada and beyond (best for intermediate readers)
- Stellar Sojourners: explore missions across our universe (best for advanced readers)
Prizes!
Everyone who is registered, participates, and reports back after completing a Quest will be entered into our Prize Draw!
- You might win one of three PrintBraille copies of ‘The Darkest Dark’ autographed by the author, Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield! There are lots of other prizes too!
- Everyone who participates will be entered in our Prize Draw. Winners will be announced at Braille-Palooza! held at the W. Ross Macdonald School in April.
