CNIB Foundation expands virtual program offerings across Canada

In response to COVID-19, the CNIB Foundation has expanded its free virtual program offerings (e.g. career support, tech training, book clubs, youth groups) for Canadians impacted by blindness. Yesterday, 35 new partnerships, including 22 guide dogs, seven buddy dogs, two ambassador dogs, and four brood dogs, formally graduated as part of the CNIB Guide Dogs Class of 2025.
Local celebrations were held in communities throughout Canada. For many graduates, the events marked the end of months of anticipation and training and the beginning of a new life-changing journey with their guide dog.
TORONTO – April 30, 2025 – CNIB and Hydro One Inc. (Hydro One) announced today a three-year partnership to enhance safety training infrastructure at the CNIB Guide Dogs Canine Campus in Carleton Place, Ontario. The partnership will focus on three components of the training program.
From April 16 to May 30, 2025, Canadians across the country will participate in this virtual five-kilometre movement event in support of CNIB Guide Dogs. We hope you’ll join us!
This commemorative medal was created to mark His Majesty King Charles III’s Coronation on May 6, 2024, and is being manufactured by the Royal Canadian Mint. Recipients are eligible for this honour because they have made a significant contribution to the country, their province, territory, region or community, or have made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.
