Parent, Caregiver & Youth Support Group -Saskatoon Series is for Saskatoon and surrounding area parents and caregivers of youth with sight loss along with their youth who have sight loss, to come together and meet other families who have similar lived experiences. This group will encourage the parents and caregivers to talk about their experiences including any struggles or successes they may be facing as they navigate their child’s sight loss throughout their life. This could include any struggles or successes as the youth move throughout the education system, any struggles or successes with youth who are home-schooled, any struggles or successes that families have had during their medical journey, etc. During this program, youth experiencing sight loss or low vision can spend time sharing their own experiences with their peers while developing social skills and building friendships. Parents and caregivers will work toward supporting one another to build a strong community of support for their children who have sight loss or low vision, while sharing their lived experiences.
The Saskatoon Parent, Caregiver & Youth Support Group meets on the first Monday of every month from 6 to 7 p.m. at CNIB Saskatoon.
