Join CNIB for an interactive workshop on guide dog etiquette and allyship.
- Understanding Guide Dogs: Learn about the vital role guide dogs play in the lives of individuals who are blind or low vision, their training, and how they assist in daily activities.
- Guide Dog Etiquette: Discover the dos and don’ts of engaging with guide dogs and their handlers. Understand how to respect boundaries and provide appropriate assistance when needed.
- Allyship in Action: Explore how you can be a supportive ally to guide dog handlers. Gain insights into effective communication, advocacy, and ways to foster an inclusive environment.
- Real-Life Scenarios and Role-Playing: Engage in practical exercises that simulate real-world situations, helping you apply the knowledge gained in the workshop.
The Guide Dog Etiquette and Allyship workshop meets on Friday, September 27 from 12 to 1 p.m. Eastern Time on Zoom. Zoom information will be provided after registering.
