As part of CNIB’s advocacy work to create safe and accessible journeys, we’re gathering testimonials that capture the transit realities facing people with sight loss across Canada.
Take us on your commute! Submit a video, audio or written testimonial that documents your transit experiences (good and bad). Give us a firsthand account of what it’s like using transit in your community. Tell us how you plan for travel and what’s involved. Call out any barriers you encounter along the way. Your testimonial may be featured in materials to help advocate for accessible transportation across Canada.
Filming guidelines:
- Film a short video or audio recording or submit a written testimonial sharing your transit experiences.
- Introduce yourself. Tell us your first name and what city or town you’re in.
- Narrate your journey! Describe what you’re doing or where you’re headed, what method of transit you’re using, navigating a station platform, etc.
- If you're filming on an iPhone, avoid filming vertically in portrait mode. Instead, rotate the iPhone horizontally to landscape mode before hitting that record video button. Quick tip: if you're using an iPhone, the volume buttons should be facing the ground or the sky – that's how you'll know you're filming in horizontal format!
Submission guidelines:
- Once you've recorded your testimonial, you can submit it via WeTransfer to cnib-submissions.wetransfer.com
- Eligible submissions will be included in a draw for a chance to win one of three $25 gift cards.
By sharing your testimonial, you can help raise awareness about the accessibility of public transit. For more information, email advocacy@cnib.ca.
