“If people in our society lived life as selflessly as these guide dogs do, our world would be a much better place. Don has enhanced my life in so many ways. First, he’s given me freedom. Second, he’s giving me the security to go anywhere I like, without hesitation. Don and I share a personality. He can’t sit still, he doesn’t like to rest, and he always wants to be on the go. One thing I really enjoy about him is when we’re out for walks and there’s another dog acting silly or irresponsibly, he gives them this side glance, shakes his head, and moves on. It makes me giggle every time he does it. I remember the first time I ever saw Don. I held his face close to mine. He stopped what he was doing and stared right back at me. I knew from the moment I saw him that our relationship was just going to flourish. He’s an exceptional creature with an incredible disposition. I was overcome with emotions and my eyes filled with tears. Don isn’t just a guide dog to me – he’s a family member who I love and adore.” – Ary
