Learn to run your own business risk-free with CNIB's new Venture Zone Game, an app that provides you with an accessible and fun way to gain entrepreneurial experience. It was created especially for aspiring entrepreneurs who have sight loss, but can be enjoyed by anyone, including sighted individuals.
In the Venture Zone Game, you’ll create and name your own company, select products to sell based on three price points, and raise virtual cash with seed funding, a bank loan or friends and family.
You’ll learn to:
- brand and market your product
- produce your product by outsourcing or setting up your own factory
- choose between an e-commerce or brick-and-mortar platform to sell your product
- hire and train staff, or fire them if they’re not working out
- analyze sales and other data
If you’re a beginner player, turn on tutorial mode and a narrator will guide you through the game while you learn business strategy at the same time.
Track your progress through a data screen which shows how much cash and inventory is available. The goal is to make as much money as possible and build a strong brand. Share your high score with friends on Game Center’s leaderboard.
The Venture Zone Game is available to download for free on the Apple App Store in Canada. The international version, Venture Zone Global, is available for only $0.99 USD, with proceeds from sales going toward CNIB Foundation programs.
The game is available in English and French.
