The iPhone and iPad have a great screen reader built in: VoiceOver. It can read you everything on your phone and let you control your device without needing to find a specific spot on the screen. There’s just one catch: it’s a lot to learn. VoiceOver can be intimidating for new users, which is why we’re running this special session to teach the basics of Apple’s screen reader. We’ll be going over the fundamentals: turning on VoiceOver, understanding what it says, and doing the finger movements needed to tell your phone what you want. If you’re new to VoiceOver or smartphones, or if you need a refresher on how to swipe up or double tap, be sure to join us! If you’re already a VoiceOver pro, check out our Advanced VoiceOver session.
