If you’ve ever watched or listened to a cartoon or commercial and wondered what goes into voicing the distinctive and engaging characters portrayed or if you enjoy experimenting with your speech, taking on a new personality or identity and letting your creativity shine, this is absolutely the course for you! Join us for a three-session introduction to voice acting, taught and facilitated by the team of working actors Bruce Hunter and Erica May.

Some of the fun exercises you will be doing as part of the sessions will include vocal warm-ups and techniques, pairing up and practicing short animation or commercial scripts, playing improv games, and writing a unique character monologue. Most importantly you will get valuable coaching and tips from two talented professionals who will help you explore your talent.

About the facilitators:

  • Bruce Hunter  is a partially sighted actor who has taught at Second City for over 30 years and has performed voice work for Atomic Betty, CBC Kids, Puppets Who Kill and numerous commercials. View his credits extensive credits!
  • Erica May is a LAMDA trained actor who has performed on stages across the province and in short films. She is an experienced facilitator who has worked with Young People’s Theatre, Crows Theatre, Autism Home Base, Hamilton Conservatory of the Arts, as well as in schools, hospitals and community venues. In March of this year Erica designed and lead the Kids Theatre Week program at the CNIB Hub in Toronto for children ages seven to thirteen.
