CNIB Foundation is looking for a Specialist, Community Engagement and Outreach to execute the business-to-consumer initiatives of the Phone It Forward program. Phone It Forward is a CNIB program that works to unlock the life-changing potential of mobile technology for people who are blind or partially sighted.

The Specialist, Community Engagement and Outreach will ensure that all activities are coordinated and meet the program's objectives of maximizing the CNIB Foundation's impact in changing what it is to be blind, particularly in the area of accessible technology.

This newly created position is responsible for securing the locations, administration and logistics for community Phone Drives, the volunteer recruitment, training and management of Team Captains, supporting the identification of local opportunities, providing ongoing progress reports and ensuring best in class customer and stakeholder relations.

Your impact at CNIB

  • You will drive the program's success through engaging the community and the acquisition of donations.
  • You will work closely with community leaders and build relationships.
  • You will manage the recruitment, training and engagement of Volunteer Captains and volunteers.
  • You'll collaborate with a team that works in partnership with other departments, staff and volunteers, to ensure excellent customer service and best practices.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skill.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Donor Management Systems.
  • Experience managing and working with volunteers.
  • Professional attitude and flexibility.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit and community services sectors.
  • Post-secondary education with a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience. 
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
