  • The trishaw is stored at CNIB, and is available Monday – Friday 8:30 – 4:30, so volunteers must have availability during this timeframe

Position Description

Tasks will include:

  • Piloting a trishaw bike with participants while following all necessary safety precautions & procedures
  • Signing up for shifts using the online registration system
  • Picking up the trishaw and meeting clients at the CNIB office
  • Providing sighted guide for participants
  • Attending any necessary trishaw training
  • Ensuring the safety and care of participants to the best of the volunteer's ability
  • Wiping down any equipment after use (including but not limited to trishaw, helmets, safety vests)
  • Immediately reporting any malfunctions or safety issues to the Program Lead

Qualities, Skills and Training
  • Patient, empathetic and friendly
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Physical stamina to pilot a large bicycle
  • An understanding of vision loss and have the ability to adapt to suit the participants needs
  • Trishaw orientation and sighted guide
  • Minimum 18 years old
