Position Description

Do you love to cycle?

Would you like to share that experience with someone who can't enjoy a ride by themselves?

CNIB is looking for cyclists interested in volunteering their time this summer to help impact and enhance the lives of islanders with vision loss. This will be a 1.5 - 2 hour commitment every week, or every second week on a rotating schedule on a Monday or Wednesday evening (TBD.)

CNIB's Tandem Biking program gets our clients out and active throughout the summer months on the back of a bicycle built for two! Clients enjoy the freedom and exhilaration of the wind on their faces while still feeling the comfort and security of having a sighted pilot. Many islanders with vision loss are isolated and have very few opportunities to get out and active in the fresh air. We hope to offer to as many clients as possible the experience of enjoying the fresh air, while getting their bodies moving with some great exercise.

We desperately need pilots for our tandem bicycles to make this happen. So, if you, or someone you know may be interested in helping change the life of someone who is blind or partially sighed this summer, please get in touch with Rachel Kitson at the CNIB in Charlottetown by clicking the link below.

Training will be provided!
