Ottawa Youth are invited to participate in our bi-monthly skateboard program. This program is open to participants ages 8 and up. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch, or you may drop-off if need be. Boards and helmets will be provided, however you may wish to purchase additional padding. There is a maximum of 8 spaces available and you must register in advance. Ottawa Youth Skateboarding will meet every other Monday (beginning May 13) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. We will meet at the Ottawa Hub and head over to the skatepark for our group lesson.

Like it or not, technology is becoming a big part of modern life. Nowadays, people rely on computers and smartphones for work, school, entertainment, and connection. For people with vision loss, assistive technology offers all of this as well as a great deal of independence. Join us over Zoom for Intro to Assistive Technology to get a chance to see what is possible and how we at CNIB can help you learn how to harness the power of assistive technology. This lunch hour session is offered on Zoom, Tuesday, May 14th from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time.

Start your journey seeking a part-time or summer job with CNIB Learning Academy’s Youth Job Club!  There is no time like the present to begin your work experiences. Having a part-time or summer job will put some money in your pocket, and you give valuable skills that employers are looking for. Facilitated by staff with sight loss, this five-session program will give participants an edge in looking for your first summer or part-time job. Virtual sessions are hosted on Zoom every Tuesday (May 14 to June 18) from 7:30 to 8 p.m. Eastern Time.

Kick off the Canadian camp season with some "glamping" at CNIB Lake Joe!

Transport yourself to another country from the comfort of the London Hub. The music, the history, the fun facts, and the food. Be prepared to help make a simple food item and taste it. Smartphone photography has become extremely popular with improvements in the quality of smartphone cameras and the rise of photography-centered social media apps such as Instagram. Join us in this second installment of Accessible Photography as we learn more adaptive photography techniques as well as how to enable accessibility features to make your photography experience more rewarding.
