Gift of life insurance FAQs

Main Content

What is a gift of life insurance?
A gift of life insurance means that you are naming CNIB as the beneficiary of your life insurance policy. Many people find this is an affordable giving option that allows them to make a huge impact on CNIB in the future with a minimal investment now.

How can I make a gift of life insurance to CNIB?
You’ll need to set up your gift through your lawyer. We're happy to answer questions, help you prepare for a meeting with your lawyer and if you don’t have a lawyer, we can suggest professionals in your area.

Please note: It’s important to remember that you’ll need to use our full legal name when making a gift of life insurance. Please use “The Canadian National Institute for the Blind” on all legal documents.

How much will I pay in premiums?
The amount of money you pay in premiums will depend on several factors, including your age, payment schedule and whether you’re male or female. We can give you more information about premium amounts when you give us a call.
