Employment Assistance Services

CNIB’s Employment Assistance Services are for individuals who have vision loss and need support to achieve goals related to post- secondary education and/or employment.

CNIB’s specialists identify and address vision loss- related issues that may impact employment and work with each person to develop a personalized plan that meets his or her needs.

CNIB works collaboratively with employment organizations in several regions of the province and connects the individuals we serve to our partners for assistance with job search, career planning, and training/grant opportunities.

Support includes:

  • Service coordination
  • Educational assessments
  • Workplace assessment
  • Assistive technology information and training
  • Employer awareness and sensitivity training
  • Crisis intervention
  • Referral to other employment services and CNIB vision rehabilitation therapy

Employment assistance services are funded by The Government of Canada and the Province of New Brunswick through the Canada-New Brunswick Labour Market Agreement.
