National SCORE program

Main Content

The national SCORE program is a free summer experience for people with sight loss ages 16-21. It combines the joys of camp with sessions geared to helping you pursue a post-secondary education.

The free program helps build independence, along with employment and academic readiness skills, through discussions and activities. And there’s plenty of time for fun activities like swimming, rock-wall climbing, tandem biking, water tubing and visiting restaurants and local attractions.

There is no charge for flights, accommodations, meals and program expense. Dates and location for the next national SCORE program will be announced in spring 2019.

Eligibility
To be considered for the national SCORE program, applicants must:

  • Be a Canadian student between the ages of 16 and 21
  • Be career-oriented and motivated to pursue a post-secondary education
  • Have strong independent mobility and living skills
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Have a demonstrated interest in putting personal strengths to use for the better of peers, family and community
  • Be committed to participating in program activities
