CNIB is hitting the road to bring our innovative programs to life in your community! Meet the CNIB Mobile Hub – a new program delivery model where we visit your community to deliver in-person programming at no cost to you.

We’d love for you to join us when we visit Airdrie on Wednesday, August 7 at Hillside Church (2903 Kingsview Blvd SE #209, Airdrie) from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 

Drop in to meet CNIB staff and learn more about free programs and resources for people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision. Enjoy a day of recreational and social activities, technology workshops, and much more. Experience the latest breakthroughs in assistive tech from CNIB SmartLife and connect with other members of the sight loss community. Our free programs are designed to educate, entertain, and engage community members who are blind, as well as their families, friends, and caregivers. 

CNIB Mobile Hub –Airdrie schedule 

  • 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Tips for Making Your iPhone/iPad Work for You: Join this session to learn how to maximize the potential of your iPhone or iPad, especially if you or someone you support has sight loss. We'll explore the various accessibility features built into Apple devices that can greatly assist those with sight loss. Android users are also welcome to attend and bring their questions. Both advanced and intermediate users are encouraged to join and share their expertise.
  • 10:45 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. CNIB SmartLife - Our Mandate, Hopes, and Dreams: CNIB SmartLife is dedicated to empowering individuals with sight loss to live independent and active lives through access to transformative technology. This session will provide an overview of some of our favorite products designed to meet diverse needs. We'll also discuss the STEP program and hold a Q&A session to better understand how we can assist you.
  • 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.  CNIB SmartLife: Accessible products are available to test and purchase by debit or credit (no cash). View the accessible product catalogue to browse the most popular items from CNIB SmartLife’s wide range of helpful consumer products. Want to try before you buy? Ask about the SmartLife Tech @ Home program.
  • 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. CNIB Services/Coffee Chat: Presentation about CNIB programs and services  including volunteer services, programs and services for children, Come To Work and Advocacy. Please join us for an opportunity to meet Peers and share experiences and have a discussion about a potential Peer Support Group.
