CNIB Foundation Ontario “Know Your Rights” Project Update

Too many members of Ontario's blind, partially sighted and Deafblind communities become confused, frustrated, or exhausted when they're trying to understand their legal rights and challenge discrimination. Since the Fall 2018 launch, we’ve made excellent progress in developing easy-to-understand, practical legal information handbooks, producing public education videos, and running training for CNIB staff and community partners.

Canadians urged to submit intervention to CRTC in support of described video

Canadians who are blind were looking forward to described video for all shows during prime-time hours starting in September 2019, as mandated by the CRTC.

But now three Canadian broadcasters have petitioned the CRTC to exempt them from providing described video to non-Canadian programs received less than 72 hours prior to broadcast without described video.
