To enhance CNIB’s Culture, Sport & Recreation program offerings, we’ve partnered with SPIRIT Club, an online health and fitness platform that provides adapted exercise and healthy lifestyle classes.
SPIRIT Club strives to foster a culture of support and encouragement for all members. Whether you’re experienced with exercise or a total beginner; comfortable in gyms or don’t feel like they are the right fit for you, SPIRIT Club is where you can successfully work toward your fitness goals.


Calling all aspiring young writers! The 2022 Braille Creative Writing Contest is now accepting entries. Write a short story, essay, or poem on any topic or re-purpose something you've written for school this year! Show off your creative writing talents for a chance to win cash prizes.


Microsoft offers free online certification courses where you can learn the fundamentals of their platform (e.g. Office 365). Each certification consists of passing a series of exams to earn certification.


The family fun days are an opportunity for families with children who have vision loss to get together and learn from each other and support one another. This is also a great time for the kids to be able to play with other children who have vision loss as well as children who do not have vision loss but understand the struggles they are facing. The Family Fun Days will be run three times a year each one with a different type of activity or outing.

The Vision Mate program is CNIB's flagship initiative for one-on-one support. Vision Mate volunteers are matched up with a person who is blind or partially sighted to provide one-on-one sighted assistance and companionship.


Children of all ages across the country are welcome to participate in our new live reading series Read Aloud to Me. Join us as experienced volunteers give life to picture books, chapter books and short stories.


This class is designed for all level yogis. Relaxed pace to release anxiety and calm the body. Students will be guided into meditation, breathing techniques, yoga poses and relaxation. In the main Zoom room will be a volunteer-led, tech-focused Q&A group dealing with a wide range of questions. In this follow up to CNIB Nova Scotia’s Making of a Guide Dog event, we'll hear bout the everyday experience of having a guide dog in Nova Scotia including the advantages, disadvantages, and challenges. Smartphone photography has become extremely popular with improvements in the quality of smartphone cameras and the rise of photography-centred social media apps such as Instagram. Camera apps have in turn, developed a variety of features that suit an array of different photography situations.
