Peer Support Programs

Are you a young woman preparing for university or starting your professional life? Join us to meet other confident, independent young women with similar interests and experiences. We will focus on issues that are relevant to your life, learn new things, and discuss the challenges of living with sight loss.

Topics such as mental health, socialization, dating and navigating the workforce are just some of the things we will delve into.

The group will be catered to 6-10 participants per session and each month we will have one of our participants facilitate discussion on any of the aforementioned topics and others suggested by the group. This will encourage leadership within the group to empower each young woman to guide discussions and share ideas that are important to her while imparting knowledge onto the group.

This group runs via Zoom web conference on October 18, November 15 and December 13 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Call in information will be given upon registration.

Please be advised that you must register for all programs. We kindly ask you to RSVP a minimum of 1 full business day before the start of the program.

Registration required. To register for this program, please contact Keya Osborne, Program Lead, Youth Empowerment at Keya.Osborne@cnib.ca or call 1-800-563-2642.
