Your Google gmail account can be part of the solution to your storage needs! Join us as we explore Google Drive! Even with a basic free account, you are given 15 GB of data and we can show you the many benefits that this new storage space brings. 

We'll cover:

  • The basic features of Google Drive
  • How to navigate the app
  • How to manage your documents and pictures on your Google Drive
  • And so much more!

This technology workshop meets via Zoom web conference on Tuesday, January 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. Eastern Time. Call in information will be given upon registration.

The CNIB Foundation Learning Academy!
Welcome to the CNIB Foundation's learning academy! In these sessions, youth, parents and educators will have the opportunity to hear from working professionals with sight loss. Explore career options and learn more about summer programs for students. At the end of the program, students who are interested (and who will be 15 or older by July 1, 2021) may be referred to the Come to Work program for further assistance with their summer job search. Zoom meetings take place on the third Friday of every month (January 15, February 19, March 19) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time. 
Ontario Regional Braille Challenge
The Braille Challenge is a national program of the Braille Institute and is the only academic competition of its kind in North America for students (grades 1-12) who are blind or partially sighted! This annual competition invites students to compete in Braille Challenge events throughout the United States and Canada. Contestants are divided into five age/grade levels and are tested on fundamental braille skills.
Fashion Forward
Strike a pose with the CNIB Foundation! Learn fashion coordination, grooming, styling and makeup application tips with the Fashion Forward group. This group runs online via Zoom web conference on the third Friday of every month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Eastern Time. Call in information will be given upon registration.
Kids Who Craft - Sculpting (children 12 and under)
For children 12 and under. Discover your inner architect! Gather some materials around the house and craft them into a masterpiece! For this activity, you can use materials such as popsicle sticks, uncooked pasta, toothpicks and marshmallows, tinfoil and more. This group runs via Zoom web conference on Saturday, January 16 from 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Call in information will be given upon registration.
Post-Secondary Connect Online Group
If you are a student interested in connecting with others, exchanging ideas and discussing the challenges of attending post-secondary school with sight loss, join us for our monthly discussions from the comfort of your home or dorm room! This group runs online via Zoom web conference on the third Monday of every month from 7-8 p.m. Eastern Time. Call in information will be given upon registration.
