In this extraordinary opportunity, participants are invited to an introduction to Scuba diving with instructors trained by the DiveHeart adaptive SCUBA organization.

Hosted by Dive World in Etobicoke, this experience will involve 2-3 hours of class time, combined with 1-2 hours of pool time. For the nominal cost of $25 per person, you’ll receive one-on-one guidance through equipment usage and underwater techniques.

In a patient, supportive, accessible environment, you’ll then be introduced to the remarkable experience of breathing underwater, walking at the bottom of a pool, and being weightless.

Potential participants must complete a health questionnaire, and meet the basic physical requirements as set out by Dive Heart. You’ll require a bathing suit, towel, and snacks or a portable lunch.
Two blind CNIB staff members have already experienced the Try SCUBA program, and you can be assured that the instruction you’ll receive will be safe, friendly, competent, inclusive, and fun.

Registration required. To register for this program, please contact Brian McLean, Program Lead, Culture, Sports and Rec at 647-998-6451 or email brian.mclean@cnib.ca
