Technology can level the playing field for people who are blind or partially sighted – but only when it’s accessible, available and affordable. To help make this a reality, CNIB is working on a bold and ambitious advocacy campaign that coincides with the upcoming federal election. Titled “TechNow!”, the campaign seeks to ensure that all aspects of the federal government are complemented with accessible adaptive technology and programs.
To ensure that accessible adaptive technology and programs are top-of-mind for MP candidates, CNIB is hosting town halls across the country during the federal writ period. The town halls will provide an opportunity for clients, volunteers, advocates, and other community members to join forces and ask their local MP candidates questions about the “TechNow!” campaign. Are you interested in hearing what your local MP candidates have to say? Join us at a town hall event near you.
Barrie: Thursday, October 17, 2019, 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. CNIB Simcoe/Muskoka (20 Anne Street South, Barrie). Email firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP.
