The controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
The position is responsible for the overall management of the transaction processing payroll and treasury functions and provides support in the areas of financial reporting and analysis, and the budgeting activities of CNIB. In addition, the position is responsible for the financial management of the various outside entities supported by CNIB providing financial statements with analysis.
Senior Manager, Capital Property
This is a senior manager level management position responsible for providing a disciplined and consistent approach to overseeing, managing, contracting and implementing capital projects on leased and owned facilities in the organization, with special emphasis on the newly procured Guide Dog training facility near Ottawa, Ontario.
In covering a broad range of duties, the emphasis of this position would be to provide the support for investing in qualified and experienced resources to assist CNIB and its related entities in the development of their property and physical asset responsibilities.
Responsibilities include providing a professional resource and applying the corporate standard for advice on property matters; prepare, recommend and maintain Business cases for all properties including cost benefit analysis of ownership verses lease; assist CNIB, and related entities in preparing Capital property development business cases, assisting in the design and project management of property capital projects and making capital maintenance recommendations for owned properties.
A significant aspect of the position will initially be focused on the development of a world class Guide Dog training facility, with accountably to Guide Dog program leadership.
