Head of Stakeholder Relations and Community Engagement, CNIB Guide Dogs
This team member will be responsible on behalf of the CNIB Guide Dog Program for establishing and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders both nationally and internationally. The Head of Stakeholder Relations and Community Engagement will serve as the primary spokesperson and representative for the CNIB Guide Dog Program, its staff, volunteers, and various programs, along with playing a key leadership role within a diverse team to ensure the Program meets its mission.
Manager, CNIB Guide Dogs
This management position is responsible for the day to day operations of the program and will work in collaboration with the Executive Lead to develop and execute the components of the CNIB Guide Dogs annual operations plan. This position will play a vital role to manage the recruitment, selection, and orientation processes for staff and volunteers in the Guide Dog program.
Manager, Canine Development and Training
This management position will be instrumental to the ongoing development and evolution of the CNIB Guide Dog programs and services. The Manager, Canine Development and Training will specifically develop and execute puppy raising programs for the CNIB Guide Dog Program and will provide leadership in the recruitment and training of Puppy Raisers.
Puppy Raising Supervisor
This team member will provide direct supervision in the operation of a puppy raising program, which includes the assessment, selection, training, and front-line management of volunteer Puppy Raisers. The Puppy Raising Supervisor will ensure the necessary volunteer resources are in place and will act as an ambassador for CNIB Guide Dogs, supporting CNIB's strategic direction.
Guide Dogs Administration Assistant
This position is the main administrative support for CNIB Guide Dogs. The role requires a high level of organization, record-keeping, and general office skills. Focus and motivation, accuracy, confidentiality, sound judgement and diplomacy in dealing with a multitude of constituents, including the public, clients, staff and volunteers, are all essential skills.
Caretaker, CNIB Guide Dogs Training Centre
This role will coordinate and execute on day to day operational tasks, functions, and be specifically responsible for maintaining the overall Facility. They will also assist in the implementation and adherence to the Facility's operational policies and processes, including providing on site monitoring in non-traditional hours for the CNIB Guide Dogs who may be kenneled in the Facility.
Guide Dog Mobility Instructor (GDMI)
This position will play a critical role with our participants from the initial stages of entrance into the program to the successful pairing with a Guide Dog to achieve the participant's goal to live independently in partnership with a guide dog. The GDMI will deliver training courses to program participants and ensure that the trained guide dogs are suitably paired to program participants.
Guide Dog Trainer (GDT)
This position, in concert with our Guide Dog Mobility Instructors and the entire training team, will play a critical role with our participants from the initial stages of entrance into the program to the successful pairing with a Guide Dog. The GDT will complete preliminary assessments of dogs within the program, implement individual training programs for all dogs assigned to them, and monitor progression of dogs within the training program.
The Veterinarian will be a qualified professional who brings a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience in the veterinary care of dogs, specifically Labrador Retrievers and Golden Retrievers. This position will work with the Managers of CNIB Guide Dogs and training team to further develop policies and procedures with regards to the health and welfare of the dogs and will advise on the veterinary protocols and policies of CNIB Guide Dogs.
