Karen Love, Executive director, Alberta and Northwest Territories
Karen has spent the last 12 years working in the field of Education as a School Counsellor, and Not-for-Profit Management in the field of high risk children and youth and those with disabilities. Karen has a background in mental health and knows how this can impact people from all walks of life with or without disabilities and is always happy to advocate on their behalf.
She joined CNIB in March of 2016 as a Regional Manager for the Southern Alberta Region. Karen took on additional responsibilities for the province and was promoted to Executive Director in May 2017. She is an active member of the Western Canada Leadership Team and has responsibility for service delivery within both CNIB and Vision Loss Rehabilitation for Alberta and Northwest Territories.
Karen is from Scotland and moved to Okotoks in Southern Alberta with her family in 2005 and has not looked back since. Her down time is spent with her family including two teenagers and a myriad of rescued animals. She is an avid volunteer in her community and the Founder of a local chapter of a worldwide fundraising initiative.
Andrew Galster, Manager Foundation programs
Andrew joined CNIB in 2018 and brings a decade of experience in adaptive program development, implementation and oversight. Previously involved with the Alberta Easter Seals Society’s Camp Horizon, he was instrumental in creating several programs to facilitate adventure experiences and leadership development for children and adults with varying abilities.
Andrew is a champion of unleashing the power of technology. He is never afraid to try a new piece of technology and is always excited to teach people about the latest tools for enhancing teamwork, collaboration and - most importantly - client service.
