CNIB Library
The CNIB Library is Canada's largest library of accessible materials for people with print disabilities.
How We Help
If you or someone you know has difficulty reading print because of a visual, physical or learning disability, we can help you:
Find books and magazines in audio, e-text and braille
Read daily newspapers
Enjoy classic movies, with the action described
Help your kids discover a love of reading.
You can get our materials online, have them delivered to your home by mail or request them through your local library in participating provinces.
Our services are available in English and French, and they are free to you.
Our programs help young people and their families develop literacy skills that are important to education, employment and independence - while having lots of fun!
The Difference We Make
"I am writing on behalf of a client who receives DAISY books in the mail. I cannot begin to tell you what a difference you are all making in her life. Losing her sight so quickly had her depressed and angry. Hearing her laugh and having to rush to tell me which books arrived in the mail is like interacting with another woman." - Caregiver
"The library gives me the opportunity to read what my classmates are reading. I feel included and not different from anyone else. It helps other students accept who I am and makes the concept of having a blind classmate less scary." - CNIB client
