Join us to relax amongst the fresh spring air or changing fall leaves. Experience new off-site programming unique to each season and enjoy specialized experiences such as cooking classes, pottery and yoga!

Enjoy our two-night, three-day adult mini-camp to get a taste of the Lake Joe experience. Enjoy all the classic Lake Joe activities like swimming, tubing, tandem biking and campfires! We know you'll leave wanting to come back for more!

Young Adult Mini-Camp

If you're a young adult between the ages of 19-30, join us for a well-rounded sampling of everything Lake Joe has to offer. From canoeing to tandem-biking and outdoor exploration to sailing, you will have an enriching experience to meet new friends in a supportive environment.

Arts and Wellness Weekend

  • Arts and Wellness Weekend: Friday, June 15 – Sunday, June 17, 2018

Pull out your smock and make new friends while exploring art in the dark and other art mediums, and participating in yoga, meditation and exotic cooking workshops! This program is open to all friends of Lake Joe (clients, families, staff, volunteers, supporters, community members, etc.).

Family Camp

Come and spend quality family time at Lake Joe! Our family program offers CNIB clients and their families an opportunity to enjoy the splendor of Muskoka on the shores of beautiful Lake Joseph. Activities are available for all ages; from the young to the young-at-heart. Adult only (e.g. welcome reception) and youth only (e.g. Zoo escape evening program) programs are always a highlight! Take a dip in the lake, a tandem bike for a spin, go fishing, cruise the lake or relax by the campfire. In a safe and inclusive environment, everyone is encouraged to make friends and try something new!

Youth Programs

Summer Camp

Monday, July 2 – Friday, July 6, 2018

Ages: 8-17

You will have opportunities to learn new skills while developing confidence and independence in a safe and supportive environment. In this program, you choose your specialization for the week. Activities include: waterskiing, music, outdoor discovery, sailing, and many more. You will also have a chance to participate in camp-wide activities and an overnight campout (optional). Join us for a fun-filled week of friendship and self-discovery!


Monday, July 2 – Friday, July 6, 2018

Ages: 16-19

Join us for Leaders-in-Training (LIT). This unique program will empower you to take an active role in camp life and become a successful, positive leader in your community. Focus on skill development in the morning by selecting two personal activity choices (e.g. canoeing, waterskiing, nature discovery). In the afternoon, work towards cultivating your leadership skills by supporting younger campers in activities and participating in specific LIT leadership workshops. Evenings are spent participating in camp-wide games and excursions. At Lake Joe, you'll learn you don't need a title to be a leader!

Camp Abilities

Ages: 8-18

This goal-based program is aimed at athletic development. You will work with skilled experts and instructors who provide one-on-one coaching and support to help guide you to achieve your performance goals through specialized sports program. Specialties include: triathlon (cycling, running, and swimming), paddling (canoe/kayaking) and sailing.

Pushing Limits for Active Youth (PLAY)

Monday, July 23 – Friday, July 27, 2018

Ages: 8-18

Pushing Limits for Active Youth (PLAY) through sports and recreation is our camp for those what want to discover new sports at Lake Joe! You can choose sport discovery or specialized programming to hone your skills and try something new. Sailing, goalball, five-a-side soccer, judo, paddling, swimming and biking are some of the sports you can try or focus on during your week at Lake Joe. Health and wellness workshops including independence, healthy eating, personal care, etc. complement this adaptive sports program. Come PLAY at Lake Joe!

Wilderness Immersion for Leadership Development (WILD)

Monday, July 23 – Saturday, August 4, 2018

Ages: 15-19

Join us for Wilderness Immersion for Leadership Development (WILD), a two-week adventure program. Work on tangible hard skills like canoeing, hiking, white-water rafting, orienteering, rock climbing and high-ropes course elements and refine your leadership skills in a safe, inclusive environment. Supported by experienced guides and staff, you will have the opportunity to apply your skills on a multi-day canoe trip in Algonquin Park and test your mettle through treetop trekking and white-water rafting on the Ottawa River. It's WILD! Space is limited with only eight spots available.
